Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company is seeking a Protein Plant Operator to ensure product quality while managing RO, evaporator, and water polishing units in production and CIP. You will maintain documentation and adhere to GMP and sanitation standards, working closely with a team to meet department goals.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, SAP experience, and dairy manufacturing exposure. This role requires physical readiness and the ability to work flexible, long shifts in a fast‑paced

Qualifications

• English proficiency to read, write and speak.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate evaporator, permeate and polishing RO units, including production, CIP and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate and complete paperwork.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures and sanitation standards (CIP, COP) for food safety.
• Maintain QA programs and production records per Hilmar Cheese & Ingredient standards.
• Perform in-process testing and respond to quality checks.
• Communicate effectively with team members to achieve department goals.
• Provide support by relieving operators for breaks or lunch as needed.
• Participate in master sanitation and safety programs; assist with audits and incident investigations.
