Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company in Dodge City, KS is seeking a Protein Plant Operator to uphold product quality while operating RO, evaporator, and polishing units, and CIP processes.

You will maintain paperwork, follow GMP and sanitation standards, work 12-hour shifts including weekends and overtime, and collaborate with a safety-minded team to support production goals. Electrical and automation familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required to read, write, speak.
• Basic computer skills needed for documentation and reporting.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate RO, evaporator, permeate and polishing RO units, including production, CIP.
• Maintain accurate and complete paperwork.
• Follow GMP; sanitation in relation to CIP, COP, and clean up.
• Maintain and monitor all QA and production programs per Hilmar Cheese & Ingredient standards.
• Complete and respond to all in-process testing.
• Communicate and work effectively with team members to meet department goals.
• Relieve operators for breaks and lunch as needed.
• Perform master sanitation program duties as assigned.
• Participate in GMP audits, safety audits, and related activities.
• Promote and follow Company Hygiene Zoning Program.
• All other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
• Participate in training and development activities.
