Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a TDS DPD&D Protein Formulations Co-Op in Malvern, PA. The six-month, full-time on-site program offers hands-on experience in protein formulation development and drug product characterization within a pharma R&D setting.

Expect undergraduate to doctoral students enrolled in chemistry-related fields with lab experience. You will learn DoE and analytical techniques, contribute to stability studies, and collaborate with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited university for the duration of the Co-op.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a Chemistry-related field.
• At least three months of prior laboratory experience in chemistry, biology, or engineering labs.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Learning formulation techniques to prepare and compound drug products for stability studies.
• Utilizing analytical characterization tools such as micro-flow imaging, dynamic light scattering, turbidity measurements, and protein concentration analysis.
• Applying DoE principles to evaluate formulation variables and understand relationships between excipient degradation, enzyme type, enzyme concentration, and formulation conditions.
• Analyzing and interpreting experimental data using analytical and statistical methods.
• Participating in technical discussions and weekly meetings with internal and external collaborators.
• Maintaining laboratory notebooks and technical documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
• Supporting research activities related to protein formulation development and drug product characterization.
• Providing additional project support and contributing to team objectives as needed.
