Job summary

Neogen in Lansing, MI is seeking a Protein Chemist III to lead formulation and development of reagents under SMP/SOP guidelines. You will supervise testing, troubleshooting, and process improvements, with responsibility for training staff and ensuring GMP/GDP compliance.

You will collaborate across teams, manage data analysis, and generate reports while advancing product quality and safety in food diagnostics. Bachelor's in a related science is required, with 3–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a related science field with 3–5 years of experience in research or manufacturing.
• Understanding of cGMPs and ISO guidelines is preferred.
• Ability to analyze data and present scientific findings.

Responsibilities

• Formulate reagents from stock following SMP/SOP.
• Lead process improvements and troubleshooting efforts.
• Supervise staff in absence of supervisor/manager.
• Perform in-process quality testing and product release testing.
• Assist with raw material qualification and inventory management.
• Prepare reports and data analyses for management.
