Position: Security Officer
Shift: FT 4p-2a Norwood, great benefits! Shift differential for evenings or nights!
Responsibilities:
- Patrol buildings and grounds to deter/prevent law and policy violations.
- Post-up at specific locations when assigned to ensure the safety and security of patients, parents, visitors, and team members.
- Maintain communications with the Communications Center and other Protective Services personnel by two-way radio, phone, and other communication devices.
- Ensure that only authorized personnel are admitted onto hospital premises; contact unauthorized persons to determine service needs, ask questions, re-route or detain as appropriate.
- Report safety and fire hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections; look for violations of Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and Fire Code safety violations.
- Respond to and investigate routine and/or urgent complaints reported by patients, parents, visitors, and team members and implement service recovery as appropriate.
- File appropriate documentation by the end of the shift; conduct follow-up investigations as directed and file appropriate reports.
- Emergency response to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, or combative patients within 3 minutes of activation.
- Assist clinical staff with patient restraint; monitor combative or potentially combative patients as directed.
- Direct traffic within TriHealth campuses and control parking of all patients, parents, visitors, and team members.
- Enforce hospital parking rules and issue parking violations to illegally parked vehicles.
- Provide help in times of emergency and stress; act as a liaison and partner with police and fire agencies as needed.
Job Requirements:
- High School Degree or GED.
- 1-2 years Technical experience in Criminal Justice, Private Security, Police experience, or Military preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Current Private Security handgun certification or ability to obtain certification within 45 days of hire.
- Valid Driver's License with no more than 4 driving points recorded on a motor vehicle report.
- No prior DUI/DWI convictions within the last 5 years.
- No major moving violations convictions.

An officer must be willing and able to protect him/herself from harm using education and tactics following use of force policies. An officer must be able to protect staff and patients from harm; officers must carry a firearm at all times. When conducting business for TriHealth Corporate Security, officers must conform to Corporate Security Policies concerning defensive equipment.
