Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is hiring a Protective Services Worker in the Office of the Public Conservator within the Department of Aging and Adult Services. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Social Work (CSWE-accredited) or a related counseling master’s with field placement, plus relevant licensure options and a valid CA

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited school.
• OR Master’s Degree from an accredited two-year counseling program with supervised field placement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to determine eligibility for psychiatric care and services.
• Perform in-person visits in jail, state hospital, inpatient units, and community settings.
• Provide crisis interventions during business or after hours.
• Prepare time-sensitive court reports and provide testimony when needed.
• Evaluate and approve psychiatric treatment plans and medications.
• Document cases in digital case management systems.
