Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years old and under 40 at referral.
• Carry and use a firearm; maintain proficiency.
• Visual acuity of at least 20/20 corrected.
• Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in specified ranges.
• Submit to drug tests before appointment.
• Complete 12 weeks of training at FLETC and 17 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center.
• Register with the Selective Service System, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection for key locations in Washington, D.C.
