Protective Security Officer
Objective
This position, under the supervision of the Captain, is responsible for protecting and securing assets, personnel, customers, and visitors.
Essential Functions
Read and understand printed rules, instructions, and training materials in English. Communicate effectively in person and via electronic devices with co-workers and the public. Maintain professionalism, tact, and courtesy under stress. Write concise reports in English.
Job Duties
Perform security patrols.
Enforce access control procedures.
Protect property from theft, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
Investigate incidents and write reports on security-related situations.
Assist customers, employees, and visitors with procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Candidate Qualifications
Must be a Lawful Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen.
Must have a Social Security Card.
Must be 21 years or older.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must have 2 years of armed security or law enforcement experience, or 2 years of military service with honorable discharge. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Pre-employment medical exam and drug screening required.
Background and credit checks as applicable.
Favorable FPS Fitness Determination.
State License.
40-Hour Initial Weapons Training.
36-Hour Basic Training.
Tri-Annual Refresher Training.
MEB, OC, First Aid, CPR, AED certifications.
FPS Orientation, NWDTP, Firearms Qualification.
