FirstEnergy is seeking an Advanced Relay & Controls Instructor to train regional Operations personnel and to deliver in-house relay training programs across multiple locations. The role emphasizes designing and delivering both classroom and field training, with mentorship for junior instructors and ongoing program development.
The position requires deep relay discipline knowledge, strong communication, and leadership capabilities, with extensive travel across the FirstEnergy footprint (25–50%).

There are 2 open positions. This position may report to either Akron, OH, Connellsville, PA, or Union Beach, NJ.
FirstEnergy takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.
The estimated pay range for this role in OH, PA, WV, MD is $103,275 - $145,800.
The estimated pay range for this role in NJ is $123,930- $174,960.
This position is in the Regional Workforce Development group and reports to the Supervisor, Relays & Controls Training. The Relay Instructor will provide training to Regional Operations employees.TheprimaryfocusforthispositionisthetrainingofincumbentandincomingRelay personnel as well as candidates enrolled through the in-house Relay training program.
An employee hired at the Advanced Relay & Controls Instructor level will be expected to performall of thebelowresponsibilitieswithmoreproficiency, andinamoreindependent manner.Further,theAdvancedRelayInstructorlevelemployeewillbeassignedadditional responsibilities related to those listed above, including, but not limited to:
