My client is seeking a Protection & Controls Technician to support the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical substations for utility and heavy industrial clients. This is a hands‑on field role responsible for validating protection and control systems, performing relay testing, and ensuring safe and reliable substation operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience using industry‑standard testing equipment such as OMICRON, Megger, and/or Doble to perform relay, control circuit, and electrical testing activities. Responsibilities include pre‑commissioning and commissioning of new substations, troubleshooting protection and control systems, interpreting electrical drawings and schematics, documenting test results, and supporting outage and energization activities.
This position requires extensive travel, with project assignments across Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, and Arizona. The company has a strong project backlog with work secured for the next 7+ years, providing long‑term stability and career growth.
