Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in Laredo, TX is seeking a P&C Technician Sr to perform installation, testing, and maintenance of protection and control devices across substations and SCADA systems. The role includes emergency response, data retrieval, calibration, and compliance with safety regulations.

Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent; no prior experience required, with training provided. Heavy physical work, travel may be required, and shifts may include overtime to support system

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology, electronic technology or related technology field., or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Equivalent education and/or experience determined by the hiring manager, including military training in technical roles.
• No previous work experience required.
• Physical demand level is Heavy with potential travel and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist in acceptance and installation tests on protection, control, and measurement devices.
• Assist in installation, maintenance, and operation of power line carriers and SCADA systems.
• Perform switching under supervision of qualified personnel.
• Maintain equipment and records for safety and efficiency.
• Calibrate devices on schedule and assist with troubleshooting.
