Job summary

Georgia Power in the Northern Transmission Maintenance Centers is seeking engineers and technicians for Protection & Control Field Services roles in the Rome/Canton area. These are non-exempt, full‑time positions with pay and level commensurate with qualifications and experience, emphasizing safety and quality.

You will apply switching procedures, plan projects safely, and coordinate outages with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable service.

Qualifications

• P&C Field Services experience required.
• Electric power utility transmission experience.
• Substation experience in P&C applications, design, construction, or PM.
• Knowledge of 3-phase power systems and protection schemes.
• Ability to communicate across work groups and leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting protective relaying and controls.
• Complete construction projects and substation routines without service interruptions.
• Coordinate outages and commissioning with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and follow safe work practices and conduct job briefings.
• Develop technical expertise in 3-phase power, relaying, SCADA, and testing techniques.
• Isolate hazards and damaged equipment during emergencies to restore service quickly.
