Job summary

Siemens is seeking a mid‑career Application Engineer to support proposals for protection and automation across the United States. You will review customer requirements, design technical and commercial solutions, and prepare proposals with BOMs and system layouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 4+ years of professional work experience in power systems, protection and automation.
• Ability to interpret specifications and propose cost‑effective Siemens or 3rd party solutions.
• Solid knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards and good written communication.
• Excellent verbal communication and proposal writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Review customer technical specs and develop protection, automation and power distribution proposals.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals with system architectures and BOMs.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure timely delivery.
• Interface with customers to answer questions and optimize proposed solutions.
• Ensure compliance with standards and identify risks or deviations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to template/tool improvements.
• Support meetings and site visits; travel up to 20% may be required.
• Maintain organized documentation and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on CRM/ERP related proposal automation and tooling.
