Job summary

Shriners Children’s Portland is looking for a full-time O&P Assistant to measure, cast, fabricate, and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices under ABC Certified Practitioner supervision. The role includes timely documentation in the OPIE EMR system and directing technical staff in fabrication to meet delivery dates.

Fittings, clinic coverage, and collaboration with physicians, patients, families, and the care team are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College level courses in anatomy and physiology, physics, and medical terminology recommended.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to ABC Standards in prosthetic/orthotic practice.
• Accurate data entry in the OPIE EMR system.
• Provide guidance to technical staff during fabrication.
• Support front office operations when needed.
• Orthotic and prosthetic fittings and clinic coverage, including after-hours as needed.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families and care team.
• Document medical records, coding, and billing for devices.
