Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) is seeking a Prosthetic Representative to support prosthetic and sensory aid programs across VISNs, inpatient, outpatient, and domiciliary settings.

The role requires knowledge of prosthetic devices, contracting, inventory management, and collaboration with clinicians, veterans, and vendors to ensure timely access to devices and services nationwide.

Qualifications

• United States citizenship required (non-citizens may be appointed as per VA policy)
• One year of creditable experience or an education equivalent to the basic requirements
• Ability to research, analyze, comprehend, and apply decisions
• Knowledge of inventory management and basic accounting methods
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Serves as Prosthetic Representative handling prosthetic and sensory aids assignments and projects
• Performs contracting, procurement, and inventory management tasks
• Coordinates with health care providers, veterans, and vendors to ensure timely provision of devices
• Monitors contracts for compliance and provides guidance on benefits programs for patients
• Drafts and implements local policies and procedures aligned with national PSAS directives
• Supports home and vendor visits to authorize benefits and ensure contract compliance
