Job summary

Evergreen Prosthetics and Orthotics in New Bern, NC seeks a Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician to join our multi-clinic team. You will fabricate, modify, finish, and repair prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with clinicians to ensure quality and proper fit.

Key duties include learning casting processes, handling lab materials, meeting deadlines, maintaining a clean, organized lab, and finding efficient ways to deliver premium devices to patients.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years working in an O&P lab, with experience in Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics.
  • A team player with a can-do attitude, esp. in the midst of challenging cases and circumstances.
  • Computer skills that include word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
  • A clearly demonstrated commitment to deliver only excellent products.

Responsibilities

  • The Lab Technician is responsible for serving and supporting the Clinic Manager, Lab Manager, and Practitioners in fabrication of prosthetic, orthotic and pedorthic devices and clinical care.
  • Learn to mix plaster and vermiculite and form a cast mold as well as remove and modify it.
  • Learn products - types of plastics, what temperature to heat products and properties etc...
  • Work orders will be supplied with due dates/ deadlines. Products need to be completed on time and correctly the first time.
  • Lab organization - individual is expected to keep lab clean, organized, and to put all tools back after completing a job.
  • Always look for faster and more cost-effective ways to deliver excellent devices to our patients.
  • Adhere to lab policy.

Overview

A leading multi-clinic Prosthetic & Orthotic company in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician to join the team in our New Bern clinic. As a Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician, you play a key hands-on role in bringing custom-designed prosthetic and orthotic devices to life. You’ll work closely with clinicians to fabricate, modify, finish, and repair a wide range of patient-specific devices using both traditional and modern fabrication methods. This position is essential to ensuring that every device produced meets our standards of quality, safety, fit, and craftsmanship. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in detailed craftsmanship, enjoys problem-solving in a hands-on environment, and wants to contribute to devices that make a meaningful difference in patients’ daily lives.

Physical Requirements
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear, and bend down.
