Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Development Research Analyst to partner with gift teams, gather and summarize information to support cultivation and solicitation of major prospects. You will independently manage workload, assist leadership, and contribute to growing MM's Prospect Development team.

The role requires on-site work three days per week at the MM Development offices and involves data-driven research, reporting, and collaboration across departments to inform fundraising strategies.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in Information Science or Humanities.
• At least three years of related work experience and two years in prospect development or fundraising.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to think critically and work under pressure.
• Commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
• Ability to interact with executive-level clients and navigate information systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess and meet prospect identification information needs for a portfolio of Michigan Medicine gift teams.
• Estimate donor gift capacity from complex financial and philanthropic data.
• Identify philanthropic interests and engagement opportunities for MM.
• Synthesize data into key metrics and visuals for fundraisers and leaders.
• Prepare confidential research documents for MM staff and senior executives.
• Lead or participate in group projects and ensure data quality and policy adherence.
• Support development data usage policies and create dashboards for insights.
• Coordinate onsite visibility with three days per week in MM Development offices.
