Job summary

The Prospect Development Analyst at Miami University’s Portfolio Development team supports fundraising by delivering strategic prospect research, analysis, and intelligence to guide donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and portfolio management.

The role conducts proactive and responsive research, evaluates capacity and affinity, and develops briefing materials. It requires applying data, research tools, and industry best practices to inform senior fundraising decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
At least three years of experience using a personal computer and Microsoft or Google business software.

Responsibilities

Conduct proactive and responsive prospect research using internal data, public records, and other resources.
Analyze biographical, philanthropic, financial, business, and relationship information to assess donor capacity and affinity.
Prepare concise research profiles, briefing materials, due diligence reports, and other analytical outputs.
Monitor news and developments affecting prospects and inform fundraising staff.
Create and analyze prospect lists, support portfolio prioritization, and assist with moves management.
Prepare travel briefings for development officers and university leadership.
Collaborate with staff to identify research needs and improve processes.
