Job summary

Augusta University seeks a Prospect Development Analyst to support fundraising strategy with research, portfolio insights, and data-driven analysis across the donor lifecycle.

You will blend prospect research, management, and analytics to provide information, structure, and strategic support to development officers, identify new prospects, maintain portfolio health, ensure data integrity, and generate actionable intelligence for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using biographical, organizational, and financial tools and sources.
• Analyze and synthesize biographical, financial, professional, and philanthropic information to assess financial capacity, inclination, and affinity.
• Interpret and translate complex financial, legal and corporate language into composed briefings for targeted audiences.
• Ensure prospect knowledge is recorded in the donor database and accessible to fundraising staff to support cultivation and solicitation strategies.
• Monitor news, wealth events, and external data sources to surface emerging prospects and philanthropic trends.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of high-quality major gift portfolios by monitoring activity, stage movement, and prospect engagement.
• Assist with prospect assignment processes, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and policies.
• Assist with tracking and documenting prospect stage changes, assignment updates, and lifecycle movement in the donor database.
• Segment wealth screening results into manageable groups of prospects for qualification assignment.
• Provide preliminary research on prospects to support pipeline development, including leadership annual giving capacity ($10K-$20K).

Job Summary

The Prospect Development Analyst supports Augusta University's fundraising strategy by providing high-quality research, portfolio insights, and data driven analysis that strengthen the donor pipeline and inform major gift strategy. This role blends prospect research, prospect management, and analytics to ensure development officers have the information, structure, and strategic support needed to advance prospects through the donor lifecycle. The Analyst plays a key role in identifying new prospects, maintaining portfolio health, ensuring data integrity, and generating actionable intelligence for development leadership. This position reports to the Director of Prospect Development.

Prospect Research, Analysis, Donor Intelligence & Writing

Provide in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using various biographical, organizational and financial tools and sources, including internet websites and other external repositories of public information.

Analyze and synthesize biographical, financial, professional, and philanthropic information to assess financial capacity, inclination, and affinity.

Interpret and translate complex financial, legal and corporate language into composed briefings using style, grammar and content appropriate to targeted audiences.

Ensure that prospect knowledge (ratings, philanthropic interests, and connections) acquired through research is recorded, preserved, and maintained in the donor database, is accessible to fundraising staff, and used to develop cultivation and solicitation strategies.

Monitor news, wealth events, and external data sources to surface emerging prospects and philanthropic trends.
