Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) is seeking a Psychiatrist for the PROS program in Harlem. The role involves comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and recovery-oriented care for adults within an interdisciplinary team.

Emphasis on trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered practices. The ideal candidate is board-certified or eligible in Psychiatry, with NY licensure, DEA, and experience in OMH-licensed settings.

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Active New York State Physician License.
DEA Registration and New York State Controlled Substance License.
Minimum three years of outpatient psychiatry or community behavioral health experience.
Experience with OMH-licensed programs (PROS/ACT/CCBHC/Article 31) preferred.
Bilingual candidates encouraged.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications using evidence-based practices.
Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, adherence, and patient response.
Provide ongoing medication management and psychoeducation to participants and families.
Assess suicide risk, violence risk, and other clinical crises; intervene as needed.
Collaborate with other clinicians to ensure integrated, high-quality care.
Maintain timely documentation per OMH, Medicaid, and organizational standards.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
