Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineering Intern in Jacksonville to gain hands-on experience with high‑performance propulsion systems and support engine and system‑level testing. You will work with engineers and technicians to set up test campaigns, monitor data, and troubleshoot issues that contribute to Hermeus’ hypersonic development efforts.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

About The Role:

As a Propulsion Test Engineering Intern, you will gain hands‑on experience working with high‑performance propulsion systems, supporting engine and system‑level testing. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to set up test campaigns, monitor data, and troubleshoot issues, directly contributing to Hermeus’ hypersonic development efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced engineers to assist in designing, setting up, and operating test stands, learning the fundamentals of propulsion system testing.

Requirements
  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).
  • Strong interest in propulsion systems and testing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross‑functional teams.
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

$25 - $33 an hour

The hourly rate listed for this internship is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on degree level.
