Job summary
Blue Origin Engines in Van Horn, TX, is seeking an engineer to drive thruster test operations, plan and execute tests, assess risk, and analyze data to improve engine performance. You will work hands-on with hardware integration, post-test inspections, and collaboration across engineering teams to ensure safe, repeatable spaceflight test campaigns. A strong foundation in fluids, thermodynamics, and test procedures is essential.
Qualifications
2+ years of test experience.
Experience in executing test procedures.
Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently.
Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements, and engineering drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Support thruster test planning and execution, including procedure development, scheduling, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with thruster test operations to ensure safe and repeatable test campaigns.
Integrate thruster hardware and sub-assemblies in preparation for test campaigns, including hands-on assembly and inspection activities.
Conduct post-test inspections and document findings to support hardware disposition and test readiness reviews.
Review and analyze test data to evaluate thruster performance and identify trends, anomalies, or areas for improvement.
Support thruster performance analysis and contribute to test reports, anomaly investigations, and lessons learned documentation.
Operate and maintain ground support equipment and fluid systems in support of test operations.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to continuously improve test processes, procedures, and safety practices.
