Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Propulsion Technician (Raptor Production Machining) to manufacture, assemble, and test rocket hardware and sub-assemblies. This dynamic role requires the ability to troubleshoot, work autonomously on defined schedules, and maintain a relentless focus on safety and quality.

Candidates should have 1+ year of manufacturing experience, the ability to read drawings, and comfort using precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Bench close tolerance dimensions per blueprint.
  • Experience with measuring instruments: mics, veneers, ultrasonic gauges.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S.
  • Experience using digital borescopes for inspection.
  • Strong math, basic computer, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team to meet schedules.
  • Operate and readouts on automated asset UIs and hydrostatic test booths.

Responsibilities

  • Grind, file, or sand surfaces using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
  • Chase machine cut threads to size.
  • Polish tight tolerance surfaces.
  • Wash parts after deburr process.
  • Inspect surfaces, threads, and edges for defects.
  • Remove defects and smooth uneven surfaces.
  • Use tools and fluid flow to remove chips from passages.
  • Borescope parts to check internal defects.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and follow instructions.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment.
  • Operate test cells and related instruments as described.
  • Operate machinery like vacuum furnaces and hydrostatic booths.
