Job summary

Varda is building a space infrastructure company focused on in‑orbit pharmaceutical processing and reentry capsules. The Manager of Propulsion Systems will own propulsion architecture, analysis, design, testing, and operations, both on the ground and in orbit, leading a team across multiple engineering domains.

Ideal candidates bring 5–9 years in propulsion with leadership experience and strong CAD/PLM skills; you will shape future spacecraft capabilities and collaborate with production, mission

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 5–9 years in spacecraft propulsion, design, build and test.
• Proven leadership and ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own propulsion systems discipline and interfaces end-to-end across engineering and lifecycle.
• Set technical direction for propulsion systems and expand capabilities.
• Own P&IDs and propulsion interfaces with other disciplines.
• Lead cross-functional collaborations; set priorities and unblock work.
• Hire and grow the propulsion team and coordinate with GNC, software, structures, and production.
• Represent propulsion in forums; plan major testing campaigns and flight operations.
• Uphold engineering standards and high technical bar.
