Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a Propulsion Systems Engineer to design and integrate propulsion ground fluids systems, including cryogenic, hydraulic, and pneumatic subsystems. You will support design teams, manage subcontractors, and resolve anomalies to ensure on-time launches.

The role requires a mechanical or aerospace background, independent problem-solving, and strong communication. Occasional off-shift work and travel to ULA sites may be required as part of a demanding launch

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited university/college; mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred
  • Ability to work independently to resolve varied engineering problems
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to prioritize per program plans
  • Capability to perform system design and integration for manufacturing, producibility, safety, and performance
  • Interest in Cryogenic, Pneumatic and Hydraulics fluid systems design and integration
  • Willingness to perform pre-launch walkdowns and possibly off-shift work; able to climb stairs and walk long periods
  • Must obtain and maintain NAC-I or equivalent clearance for access to ULA sites

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering design, systems integration, subcontract management, and anomaly resolution for propulsion ground fluids systems
  • Develop system and component designs to meet propulsion requirements
  • Perform mechanical design and understanding of dynamics, structures, and fluids analyses
  • Conduct system-level trade studies to optimize design for manufacturability and safety
  • Generate engineering drawings, assembly and test requirements
  • Support design teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and launch sites to meet schedules and resolve issues
  • Review as-built hardware and test data; propose design improvements to reduce cost and risk
