Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Engineer for Propulsion Simulation & Data Analysis (Raptor) to advance the physics-based models that predict engine performance and support mission-critical decisions.

The role involves developing and maintaining lumped-parameter models, performing cycle analyses, and building data pipelines to translate test data into actionable insights for engine design and flight software validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS/Engineering or STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the lumped-parameter thermofluid model of the Raptor engine.
• Conduct engine cycle analysis to guide design and thrust upgrades.
• Perform anomaly resolution using the engine model and sparse data.
• Understand physics of engine performance and sources of variability.
• Maintain representation of Raptor engine in simulations and flight analyses.
• Develop tools to analyze engine performance variability and support hardware design.
