Job summary

Craig Technologies in Huntsville, AL, with capability in Houston, TX and Merritt Island, FL, seeks a Propulsion Plumbing Design and Fabrication Engineer to support design, CAD routing, fabrication, and assembly of propulsion system plumbing for deep-space hardware.

You will generate detailed drawings, assist with clean-room assembly, orbital welding, and fixture development for high-reliability spacecraft builds. On-site work required across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Junior Engineer: <1 year relevant experience.
• Engineer: >2 years relevant experience or Master’s degree.
• Direct CAD-based mechanical design, fluid routing, and detailing experience.
• Experience with orbital tube welding processes or weld inspection.
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing workflows and build records.

Responsibilities

• Design and route propulsion plumbing including high-pressure tubing and fittings.
• Generate CAD models, drawings, and build documentation for flight hardware.
• Develop welding fixtures and orbital tube welding procedures.
• Coordinate fabrication oversight and inspection for flight propulsion hardware.
• Support assembly, leak testing, and integration for ground tests and flights.
• Evaluate fluid line routing to avoid freezing and vapor-lock.
• Support anomaly resolution and material compatibility reviews.
