Firefly Aerospace in Texas is offering year-round engineering internship opportunities for current undergraduates and new graduates. You will support a growing team as production moves toward full-rate manufacturing.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and exposure to aerospace manufacturing challenges. Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree, comfortable reading drawings, and applying DFM/DFA practices.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a BS or MS program (or a recent graduate) at an accredited four-year university
• Hands-on work willingness in a fast-paced environment
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings
• Strong GD&T knowledge per ASME standards
• Experience with CAD software and 3D modeling
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies
• Experience using analysis to solve manufacturing problems

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with responsible engineers on processes, tooling, fixtures, and procedures
• Drive projects to improve cost and cycle times
• Research new manufacturing methods and production processes
• Identify waste and implement process improvements
• Develop fabrication tooling
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives
• Develop and implement a system support process and documentation
• Perform engineering analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions
