Job summary

Amazon Leo’s Propulsion Manufacturing team seeks a Propulsion Lab Engineer to lead development and optimization of electric propulsion manufacturing infrastructure, working cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Systems, and Test engineers to translate requirements into robust processes.

You will own lab work, drive process controls, maintain lab equipment, mentor teammates, and track yield, cycle times, and scrap reduction, delivering manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace or related field; required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Experience planning and maintaining lab facilities; strong process documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build or test development and production hardware per SOPs and drawings; fabricate components.
• Inspect and test hardware to validate function and conformance.
• Navigate MES/SAP systems to support production operations.
• Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations on non-conforming propulsion hardware.
• Lead hardware rework tasks and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve integration challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and improve assembly/test procedures based on hands-on build experience.
