Job description

About Us:

SyberJet is an up-and-coming aircraft manufacturer dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and precision in the design and manufacturing of advanced aerospace systems and aircraft. Our team is committed to excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.

Job Description:

SyberJet Aircraft is seeking a Propulsion & Fuel Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, development, testing, and FAA certification of aircraft turbofan propulsion and fuel systems. This role is well suited for an experienced aerospace, mechanical, or propulsion engineer who has hands-on experience with aircraft turbofan propulsion and fuel systems and understands the requirements associated with aircraft development and FAA certification.

The Propulsion & Fuel Systems Engineer will work under the direction of the Senior Propulsion & Fuel Systems Engineer and will independently execute assigned engineering activities and deliverables. The engineer will perform detailed engineering analysis, design, and documentation; support system safety and FAA certification activities; coordinate with suppliers and other engineering disciplines; and provide hands-on support for ground and flight testing. The engineer will contribute to system-level technical decisions and be responsible for delivering assigned work with appropriate quality, completeness, and technical rigor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Propulsion & Fuel System Integration:
    • Support the integration of turbofan engines, fuel systems, bleed air systems, and associated aircraft interfaces.
    • Develop and maintain system requirements, interfaces, specifications, designs, and technical documentation.
    • Perform detailed engineering evaluations and analyses associated with propulsion and fuel system design and integration.
    • Support engine installation design, including interfaces, clearances, mounting provisions, and aircraft-level integration requirements.
    • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, avionics, structures, and other engineering disciplines to resolve system interfaces and integration issues.
    • Support supplier technical coordination and review vendor designs, specifications, drawings, and technical data.
    • Identify design issues and develop practical engineering solutions for review with senior engineers.
  • FAA Certification & Safety:
    • Work with FAA DER's and other certification personnel to address assigned compliance and technical issues.
    • Contribute to certification documentation, including compliance documentation, compliance matrices, certification checklists, engineering reports, and supporting analysis.
  • Testing & Evaluation:
    • Support propulsion and fuel system ground and flight test programs.
    • Author test plans, procedures, instrumentation requirements, test reports, and supporting documentation for aircraft development and FAA certification testing.
    • Participate in ground and flight testing and assist with data collection, analysis, and evaluation.
    • Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions for any propulsion-and fuel system anomalies.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Propulsion Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Typically 3+ years of relevant aerospace engineering experience, with experience in aircraft powerplant, propulsion, fuel systems, or related aircraft systems.
    • Demonstrated experience performing engineering analyses, developing technical documentation, and supporting aircraft design, development, integration, or certification.
    • Experience with aircraft turbofan propulsion systems and controls, fuel system design, engine installation, bleed air systems, and associated aircraft interfaces is preferred.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
    • Some familiarity with FAA 14 CFR Part 23 or 14 CFR Part 25 regulatory framework, particularly Powerplant Installation aspects.
    • Experience with Siemens NX, CATIA, Teamcenter, JIRA, Confluence, or similar engineering tools.
  • Technical and Professional Skills:
    • Ability to understand system-level requirements and interfaces and translate them into practical engineering analyses, designs, and documentation.
    • Ability to independently execute assigned engineering tasks while recognizing issues requiring coordination or escalation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and document technical information to various stakeholders.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A collaborative, engineering-driven, innovative work environment.
  • The chance to work on cutting-edge aerospace projects with a talented team of professionals.
