Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in San Carlos, CA, is seeking a Fluids Engineer to own a critical fluid subsystem from concept to flight.

You will focus on propulsion fluid design, vehicle feed systems, pressure controls, or pneumatic systems, collaborating with propulsion, structures, thermal, avionics, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust hardware. The role requires hands-on experience in designing fluid hardware for flight or high-performance systems, with emphasis on reducing mass and ensuring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own fluid subsystem from concept through design, analysis, test, and flight.
  • Drive fluid designs to minimize mass while meeting pressure drop, proof, burst, leakage, cycle-life criteria.
  • Design valves, routing architectures, and storage hardware for propellant, pneumatic, and thermal fluids.
  • Balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule in every design decision.
  • Perform hand calculations, FEA, tolerance stack-ups; validate with test/flight data.
  • Own fluid subsystem layout and integration across propulsion, thermal, and pneumatic systems.
  • Define and execute qualification and acceptance test campaigns; write procedures and criteria.
  • Develop and maintain drawings, models, specifications, interface documents, release docs.
  • Collaborate on the factory floor with manufacturing to iterate and resolve issues.
