We have an exciting opportunity for a Propulsion Engineer - Rocket Components to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If Selected You Will
  • Report to NASA JSC EP4 Branch
  • Have extensive knowledge of component and system certification, including the impacts of component design and operating environment on certification
  • Support national and international customers for Gateway, International Space, visiting vehicles, and Commercial Crew
  • Design and develop major elements of ground test and space flight systems for propulsion and fluid systems
  • Write technical and progress reports for dissemination to other technical groups and agencies
  • Understand Fluid Systems
  • Resolve unique or novel problems related to Propulsion Subsystems
  • Support flight Anomaly Resolution and In-Flight Investigation reviews, solving propulsion issues with limited information
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications

This position is posted at multiple levels. We consider candidates based on experience, requirements, and business needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Self-starting individual capable of independent technical review assessments
  • Experience level: at least 2 years in relevant engineering discipline
  • Assist Boeing team lead with daily activities, technical reviews, and document management
  • Coordinate and track document reviews and actions via systems like JIRA
  • Serve as POC for propulsion-related software changes and hazard reports
  • Support mission operations and data reviews
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in propulsion or fluid systems
  • Flight program experience
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, CAD (e.g., Creo), and analytical modeling tools (EASY5, SINDA/FLUENT, ANSYS/FEA)
