Job summary

Wardstone is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to own the development of the main engine and divert systems powering its first product, Hailstorm. You will design, analyze, prototype, test, and iterate propulsion hardware capable of extreme accelerations and high mass flow.

You will work side-by-side with founders and engineers across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines to advance cutting-edge propulsion tech.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level engineering degree with propulsion or energetics focus.
  • Hands-on experience with propulsion hardware development and testing.
  • Experience with solid rocket motors, grain design, igniters, and nozzle integration.
  • Experience designing hardware for missiles, interceptors, rockets, or aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own propulsion system development from concept through testing.
  • Design, analyze, prototype, and iterate propulsion hardware.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers.
