Job summary

Wardstone seeks a Mechanical and Structural Engineer to own the mechanical architecture and structural integrity of our first missile interceptor, Hailstorm. You will design, analyze, prototype, test, and iterate systems capable of withstanding extreme flight loads, vibration, and thermal stress.

You will collaborate with propulsion, aerodynamics, and controls teams, and own on-vehicle mechanicals from concept to flight demonstration, guiding manufacturing, materials, and vendor selection with

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of industry experience.
• US Person or Lawful Permanent Resident status required.
• Strong CAD proficiency with experience managing complex vehicle assemblies and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Interceptor design and structural analysis: size the missile for extreme flight and loads; perform structural and vibration analyses.
• Mechanical design and packaging: lead OML design and primary/secondary structures with complex CAD models.
• Cross-functional integration: coordinate with aerodynamics, propulsion, and thermal teams for packaging and heat dissipation.
• Manufacturing, materials, and vendor management: select materials and work with vendors; hands-on machining for rapid prototyping.
