Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking an experienced Propulsion Components Engineer to own and improve the fluid‑component portfolio for the W‑Series bus. You will design, qualify, and sustain propulsion parts, work with suppliers, and support build and flight operations in a fast paced, high‑cadence environment.

The role involves hands‑on test stand work, production floor support, and occasional supplier visits, with collaboration across propulsion, structures, thermal, avionics, and GNC teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical/related field; 3–6+ years’ experience encouraged.
• 3+ years designing or owning fluid components (valves, regulators, etc.) for spacecraft/high‑pressure hardware.
• Solid understanding of sealing, force balance, spring sizing, wear, and materials compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Own a significant portion of the propulsion component portfolio from requirements to flight.
• Design Varda-owned propulsion components with CAD drawings and tolerances (GD&T).
• Source and qualify purchased components; lead suppliers and drive corrective actions/second sourcing.
• Lead ATP/QTP campaigns and document results with clear reports.
• Support vehicle build, integration, and flight operations; investigate nonconformances.
