Job summary

Peraton is seeking a mid-level Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) engineer to support our NAVAIR customer in Lexington Park/Patuxent River, MD. You will work on jet aircraft and rotorcraft propulsion design projects, developing 3D flow models and delivering analysis results to program managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Experience setting up, running, and assessing CFD simulations independently
  • Background in rotorcraft and rotor blade modeling
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance ongoing fluid dynamics analysis projects in the Propulsion and Power organization
  • Develop 3D flow models using in-house tools
  • Analyze heat transfer for Navy aircraft systems and reduce flow separation
  • Review fleet failure information and provide accurate, rapid results to customers
  • Post-process results and create well-written status reports/presentations for program managers
  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with the Technical Lead
