Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking an engineer to develop axles for medium and heavy‑duty trucks and buses. The role covers specification, design, testing, and documentation with global collaboration across Detroit, Stuttgart, and Portland.

The position requires a mechanical engineering degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience, plus CAD expertise and strong communication skills. Hybrid schedule in Detroit, MI, with relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field is required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Solid CAD experience with hardware development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop Axle components and systems for medium and heavy‑duty truck & bus applications.
• Create product specifications, concepts, design, packaging, DFMEA/DVP, tolerances, simulations, prototype assemblies, testing and documentation.
• Collaborate globally with colleagues in Detroit, Stuttgart and Portland.
• Manage component suppliers and project budgets; create plans and timelines.
• Resolve plant issues, field problems, and customer requests; cross‑functional collaboration across departments.
