Job summary

IESC is seeking technical specialists/writers to support the development of technical proposals and program reports for USAID and other donors. The consultants will lead or support technical writing, conduct desk research, and collaborate with local teams to design effective program approaches and activities.

Ideal candidates have at least five years in international development, strong writing and project management skills, and fluency in English. U.S.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills and proven capabilities in proposal development.
• Minimum five years of experience in international development and USAID proposals.
• On-the-ground technical implementation experience is preferred.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• U.S. citizen or eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Write the technical approach or specific technical proposal sections, as requested.
• Absorb desk research provided by IESC and conduct independent desk research, as needed.
• Review solicitation and identify issues requiring further research.
• Offer options for effective approaches to achieve program goals.
• Develop annotated outlines within designated page allotment for bids.
• Participate in design meetings with IESC and contribute to program design.
• Provide input on program approach and activities, including cost guidance.
• Contribute to programmatic reporting and evaluations.
• Coordinate with local experts and partners for technical input.
