Proposal Specialist II (Remote - Western Region)

Overview

Michael Baker International is seeking a Proposal Specialist II to collaborate with technical leads in preparing compelling proposals and presentations. The role involves partnering with Capture Managers to lead proposal development within the company's best practices framework. The ideal candidate combines creativity with organization, possessing project management, writing, and page layout skills. They should be adept at working with teams to craft strategic messages for pursuits, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and transparency. Strategic thinking and a drive for continuous improvement are essential.

Remote Work & Location

This position offers remote work in the Western Region, with a preference for MST or PST time zones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings to define expectations.
  • Identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and manage proposal schedules.
  • Lead strategy discussions and develop win themes.
  • Coordinate proposal review meetings.
  • Manage proposal documents and page layouts.
  • Lead the development of visual and written proposal content; draft and edit narratives as needed.
  • Communicate status updates with the proposal team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in architectural and engineering proposal development for government and private clients.
  • Familiarity with the AEC industry and regional proposal requirements.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong project management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and big-picture thinking.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Deltek Vision proposal database software.
Compensation

The annual salary range is approximately $86,359 - $124,697, dependent on education, experience, skills, and location.
