Job summary

Plug Power Inc is seeking a Proposal Specialist to contribute to bids and proposals, ensuring RFPs and quotation documents are returned professionally and timely. The role blends creativity with organization, requiring project management, writing, and page layout skills.

You will lead coordination of inputs from cross-functional stakeholders, develop scalable templates, guide sales teams on best practices, review commercial terms with counsel, and manage branding-aligned templates while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, or engineering.
• 3+ years in a commercial role; preferably in manufacturing or energy.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
• Knowledge of proposal best practices and CRM/Salesforce.
• Self-starter with excellent follow-through and written/verbal communication.

Proposal SpecialistStatus: Salaried (Exempt)Department: SalesPosition SummaryThe Proposal Specialist will contribute to the daily operations of the bids and proposals team and ensure request for proposals (RFP) and other quotation documents are returned to prospective customers professionally and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is equal parts creative and organized and possesses project management, writing, and page layout skills. This is a full-time position.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDelivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframesLead the coordination, review, and editing of proposal inputs from cross-functional stakeholdersImplement scalable workflows, process improvements, templates, and tools to increase efficiency and consistency while driving best practicesProvide guidance to sales teams and subject matter experts on persuasive writing and proposal best practices; provide support presenting offersReview and manage commercial Terms and Conditions requested by customers with counsel Commercial document template management in line with company brandingPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, engineering, or related field of study. Strong acumen in commercial and financial structure.3+ years relevant work history within a commercial function; preferably as part of a manufacturing or energy environment. Experience in hydrogen and/or oil & gas a plus.Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or projects in a matrixed environment.Developed knowledge of proposal best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools, including CRM, Salesforce, or other related proposal and/or project management software.Must be a self-starting, motivated, assertive, and creative individual with excellent follow-through capabilities. Skilled with project management.
