The qualified individual leverages deep knowledge of Cigna's businesses, solutions, RFP library, intranet resources, and established relationships with subject matter experts and business owners to impact new business and retention sales. This person ensures the RFP team is equipped to handle inquiries related to legal, contractual, compliance, enterprise strategies, and other critical topics. The Risk Triage Manager collaborates with the team to strategize approaches for addressing high-risk topics within proposals.
This role partners closely with the RFP Strategy & Operations management team to triage technical requests, working with Sales and Presale teams. Building and maintaining internal RFP relationships and matrix partnerships with Legal, CIP, Privacy Office, and other experts is crucial for timely and accurate proposal responses.
ROLE COMPONENTS:
Risk Triage:
This team oversees risk-related RFP topics and processes, developing strategies to mitigate overall RFP risk. Collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Contracts, Privacy, and Security is essential.
With effective project management, the team supports legal/contractual components of RFPs, conducting research and synthesizing responses from multiple sources. The individual formulates proposals to showcase capabilities while balancing risk mitigation and sales strategy, understanding initiatives like “RFP Thought Process” and “Path to Yes”.
The team may also handle client-agnostic RFI requests related to enterprise initiatives such as Diversity & Inclusion, Social Determinants of Health, and CAA/Transparency.
People Management:
The Risk Triage Manager oversees daily operations of a team of risk writers, managing capacity and workload to meet deliverables. They lead the team through unfamiliar requests, guiding education, networking, and process development.
As a people leader, they possess strong knowledge of Cigna’s business, segments, and proposal processes, acting as a coach and SME, and supporting ongoing training to ensure team success.
Continuous Improvement:
The manager engages in initiatives to improve processes and increase the success rate of RFP deliverables. They lead efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the team, partnering with management to address content, process, and technology needs.
This role requires proficiency across various RFP roles to support the business during critical times and drive change based on feedback.

The annual salary range for this role is estimated at $90,800 - $151,400, depending on experience and location, with eligibility for an annual bonus plan.
