Job summary

Veolia North America is expanding its Energy services commercial team to develop large, complex proposals for public and private sector energy users.

The role focuses on shaping win themes, structuring documents, and presenting compelling narratives, while coordinating legal, sales, EH&S, operations, and technical staff.

You will leverage AI tools, manage deadlines, and deliver polished proposals tailored to worldwide, national, and regional opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in proposal development and management.
  • Background in engineering/technical proposals preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with editorial guidelines (Chicago preferred).

Responsibilities

Veolia is growing its commercial organization for Energy services.

The energy landscape is shifting fast with surging demand, rising costs and the delicate balance of sustainable growth. To meet the moment, Veolia has sharpened its focus with a newly re-formed energy business unit focused on a few key themes: the O&M programs to support the \"bring your own power\" movement, flexible demand response and onsite batteries, and the energy advice and data management systems to help keep large energy users on track.

Position Purpose

Responsible for developing, preparing, and implementing large and complex proposals for potential and/or existing customers, including commercial, governmental, and industrial customers within the Energy business unit of Veolia in North America. This role requires a highly organized professional who can shape compelling win themes, structure complex documents, and visually represent proposals to tell a winning story. Acts as principal liaison between legal, sales, environmental, health and safety, operations, and technical professionals to manage proposal development process and facilitate accurate, competitive proposals.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire proposal workload, prioritizing and driving submissions from inception to completion with outstanding organizational and project management skills.
  • Shape strategic win themes, structure proposal documents, and utilize strong instincts for graphics to visually represent technical solutions and craft a compelling \"how we win\" narrative.
  • Support the creation of sales enablement content, including client presentations and case studies, to drive business development efforts.
  • Leverage AI tools efficiently within the proposal process to streamline drafting, editing, and content generation.
  • Track key data including: customer, proposal due date, firm or budgetary, responsible parties, total bid amount, win rate. Report out the data and trends to support development reports and goals and objectives.
  • Develop and prepare detailed responses to proposals and qualification packages to include worldwide, national and/or regional opportunities.
  • Develop and write text for specific responses services and industry related requests and review with management complex service requests prior to communication to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist Account Manager with coordinating uniformity of proposed pricing and evaluate and analyze submitted pricing assumptions for accuracy and document for consolidation in final proposal document.
  • Develop implementation plans pertaining to project scope and company capabilities as well as transition plans on new and/or existing customers.
  • Perform follow-up of proposal contents with sales and operational personnel to review new and/or existing customers to gain meaningful feedback.
  • Develop and maintain an electronic database of relevant sales collateral to efficiently communicate and respond to a variety of requests from various professional and management levels pertaining to proposal criteria - this includes boilerplate, case studies, resumes, presentations, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BS or BA in Marketing, Communications or Related field
  • 6-8 years of proposal development/management experience, ideally with a strong background in engineering or technical proposals.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills to keep complex, multi-stakeholder proposals on track.
  • Extensive knowledge in understanding, structuring, and writing complex technical proposals.
  • Strong proficiency and efficiency in using AI tools within the proposal process.
  • Experience developing high-quality sales enablement materials, such as client presentations and case studies.
  • Excellent eye for document design, graphics, and visual representation of data.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Strong team player.
  • Familiarity with standard editorial guidelines (Chicago Manual of Style preferred).
Additional Information
Pay Range

$90000 to $130000 Per Year, Depending on Experience.
