Description:

Our client is seeking a Proposal Manager to work in their Alexandria, VA office. The Proposal Manager will manage all phases of the proposal development process in response to requests for proposals. The Proposal Manager will assist in the identification of proposal opportunities; manage all aspects of proposal preparation, revision, and submission; lead strategy meetings, and coordinates iterative reviews.

Position Responsibilities:

The Proposal Manager will perform the following main job tasks and responsibilities associated with proposal development and delivery including:

- Analyze solicitations, identify response requirements, and prepare detailed proposal response outlines, templates, and compliance matrices to ensure compliance with proposal or organization requirements.

- Prepare and enforce the schedule for building and delivering the proposal???.

- Oversee the proposal lead through the proposal development and preparation process.

- Advise the proposal lead on the types of resources needed to complete the proposal.

- Leads effective, results driven, kick-off, status, strategy, and review meetings including the scheduling, preparation, and chairing of color team reviews.

- Help develop and implement strategic proposal win themes and discriminators and ensures each proposal has a persuasive narrative.

- Prepare kickoff package and conduct proposal kickoff within 8 hours of RFP release.

- Recommend where custom graphics would help simplify complex proposal narrative.

- Produce final proposals (when printed) and deliver final proposals (printed or electronic).

- Develop and ensure the use of Client's proposal templates and establish and maintain a repository of boilerplate proposal content.

- Establish and maintain proposal workspaces and final products in SharePoint.

- Provide weekly status to leadership on the timeliness, progress, quality, and any major issues for all Client's active proposal efforts.

Position Requirements:

- Successful candidates will possess a BA/BS in any discipline emphasizing writing (Business, Communications, English, Journalism, or related major).

- Formal proposal training and familiarity with the Shipley proposal management process is a plus. APMP accreditation preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years successful proposal management experience in a government contractor environment, be a proven leader and manager, and must be capable of working well with others.

- Experience with government Federal and state government RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, etc.

- Experience with the complete proposal process from kick-off to delivery.

- Ability to work independently and still function effectively as a member of a team.

- Expert in Microsoft Office software and SharePoint.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines.

- Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and composition as well as writing, editing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Applicants must be able to write persuasive narrative material, draft error-free, timely proposals, and provide clear explanations of technical requirements.

- Applicants who have had experience performing consulting work for a client are a plus.
