Job summary

Lamb-Star Engineering is seeking a Proposal Manager to lead the development of client-focused proposals from kickoff to submittal. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, ensure on-time delivery, and craft compelling narratives that showcase our engineering capabilities.

You will work with marketing, technical staff, and subconsultants to assemble resumes, project descriptions, and qualifications with brand alignment. Strong writing and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred (relevant experience accepted).
• 3–5 years of proposal development experience in the AEC industry (engineering experience preferred).
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on clarity, persuasion, and storytelling.
• Ability to manage a team through the proposal process and maintain schedules from kickoff to submittal.
• Ability to tailor content for different audiences and requirements.

Requirements:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred. (Relevant marketing and proposal experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.)
• 3 - 5 years of proposal development experience in the AEC industry (engineering experience preferred).
• Writing & Communication Skills: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on clarity, persuasion, and storytelling. Ability to manage a team, including Project Manager and technical staff, through the proposal process. This includes setting and maintaining the proposal schedule, leading from kick off to submittal, and monitoring content development to meet deadlines. Ability to tailor content for different audiences and proposal requirements.
• Technical & Design Proficiency: Adobe InDesign and MS Office Suite required; experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Deltek/Vision CRM is a plus.
• Time Management & Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines without compromising quality. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Collaboration & Initiative: A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with various stakeholders.
• Flexibility & Travel: Willingness to work extended hours when needed and occasional travel for meetings and conferences.
