Job summary

Phillips Edison & Company, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Accounting Specialist in Cincinnati, OH to oversee the on- and off-boarding of acquired and disposed properties, and to perform technical accounting analyses including purchase price allocations and impairment evaluations.

The role offers visibility within the accounting department and collaboration with operating teams, with responsibilities spanning month-end close, reconciliations, and supporting quarterly and year-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• CPA or working toward CPA designation preferred.
• Analytical and technical skills with Excel/Word; MRI familiarity; AI tools preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and subsequent accounting for newly acquired or disposed properties, including month-end accruals and reconciliations.
• Interpret and execute purchase and sale agreements with post-close proration calculations.
• Prepare common area maintenance and tax reconciliations for transacted properties.
• Review purchase price allocations for reasonableness and accuracy.
• Respond to urgent requests from internal partners regarding dispositions or acquisitions.
• Aid with asset impairment evaluations.
• Participate in other technical accounting analyses.
• Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audits.
• Understand risks of responsible business activities and maintain related controls.
• Assist with other projects as needed.
