Job summary

The Home Depot seeks a Property Tax Manager to oversee compliance, planning, research and accounting for all property tax balances. You will work with the Property Tax staff to ensure timely, accurate tax filings and reserves in the general ledger.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in property tax, strong leadership, and advanced credentials such as CPA, CMI, or JD. Travel is minimal; on-site role based in New York.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• CPA, CMI, or JD strongly preferred; MACc, MBA or MTAX preferred.
• 5–8 years experience in property tax or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication skills; flexibility; demonstrate leadership in tax projects.
• Experience with property tax software and tax research.
• Experience in property tax compliance, audit, tax research, and accounting.

Responsibilities

• 80% Tax Planning, Accounting, Research, Compliance, and Audit Defense as needed to meet the Department goals.
• May serve as principal contact on projects with governmental officials, outside counsel, and business partners.
• May lead special studies to determine tax implications of company operations.
• May be responsible for accurate and timely filing of tax returns and for reserves (FAS 109, FIN 48).
• Liaison between SSC and subsidiary businesses in the US and internationally.
• 10% Participation on cross-functional teams as a subject‑matter expert
• 10% Coaching and mentoring of associates in the department
