Pennymac, a leading mortgage services firm, seeks a Property Preservation Associate III to support loss analyses, vendor management, and preservation timelines for high-risk loans.

You will review bids, inspect properties, and coordinate repair paths in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with FHA/VA/USDA FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and company standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to review photos and determine repair needs per FHA/VA/USDA/FNMA/FHLMC guidelines.
• Meet and exceed goals in a fast-paced environment using daily reports to ensure compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience reviewing bids, photos, and inspections for 200+ loans in your queue.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality reviews of completed vendor repairs and photos for compliance.

A Typical Day

The Property Preservation Associate III is responsible for supporting in-depth loss analyses, vendor management, and property timeline optimization for escalated and high-risk loans within Property Preservation.

• Manage high-risk and complex loan portfolios, including post-sale FHA properties, 203K loans, and government-backed/conventional loans, to ensure preservation milestones and conveyance timeframes are met
• Lead vendor management efforts by evaluating, negotiating, and approving repair bids against investor/insurer requirements to minimize servicing advances and company loss exposure
• Conduct quality reviews of completed vendor repair work and photos to confirm compliance with budget approvals and workmanlike standards
• Evaluate daily reports, line-item insurance claims, and property inspections to identify damage root causes and establish corrective repair pathways
• Coordinate response workflows for consumer complaints, city code violations, receiverships, and demolition orders by performing research and escalating risk indicators to leadership
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

What You’ll Bring

• This is a work from office position
• Ability to review photos of homes and property to determine condition and type of repairs required to place the home in conveyance condition by FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA and FHLMC guidelines
• Ability to meet and exceed goals in a fast-paced environment by utilizing daily reports to ensure compliance with established guidelines in Property Preservation
• Ability to review bids, photos, inspections on a daily basis to track status of ongoing vendor work on 200 plus loans in your work queue
• Candidate must be highly organized, highly ethical with a high attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite Workplace
• Strong attention to detail with the capacity to independently problem solve, when necessary
• Delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
• Mortgage Servicing industry, Construction or Insurance adjuster experience helpful but not required
• Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

• Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
• Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
• Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
