Job summary

MRK is seeking a dedicated Porter to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of a 120-unit Valley Run property in Coatesville, PA. The role includes cleaning grounds, interiors, offices, bathrooms, and common areas, and preparing vacated apartments for move-in.

Responsibilities include grounds maintenance, janitorial tasks, and assisting maintenance technicians with preventive work orders as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of general maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations preferred.
• Must be able to work a flex schedule and be on-call for weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Requires the ability to read, speak and comprehend the English language.
• Ability to follow direction and work independently in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrols property daily to identify areas in need of cleaning and completes required work—remove trash/debris from property grounds and common areas, keep the dumpster area clean, and vacuum, sweep and mop
• Restores vacated apartments to move-in condition for new residents—clean appliances, kitchen cabinets, sink and floors, bathroom—including toilet, tub, sink and floor, windows, front door, and performs touch-up painting as necessary
• Performs grounds maintenance, including weed removal, grass-cutting and planting, snow and leaf removal from property—sidewalks, walkways, steps and driveways/parking spaces
• Cleans property office as necessary—empty trash, vacuum carpets, clean bathroom and kitchen; Completes janitorial requirements in accordance with the janitorial schedule
• Assists maintenance technicians in performing preventive maintenance, capital improvements or satisfying work orders as needed
