Job summary

A.J. Dwoskin & Associates in Northern Virginia seeks an experienced Property Manager to lead on-site teams and drive exceptional resident experiences while protecting assets and delivering strong financial performance.

You will oversee leasing, maintenance, and administrative staff, ensuring AJD standards are consistently met and reporting is accurate. A high school diploma is required, with a bachelor’s preferred; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive property management experience, including at least 2 years leading a team.
• Strong understanding of the resident rental lifecycle and property operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Yardi Voyager or similar PM software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the on-site administrative, leasing, and maintenance teams.
• Create a strong resident experience to support satisfaction, retention, and community reputation.
• Maintain a visible presence and ensure AJD standards are met at the property.
• Manage property financials: budgets, expenses, revenue, and P&L results.
• Monitor leasing activity, occupancy, resident retention, and other KPIs.
• Ensure timely operational and financial reporting.
• Manage risk, vendor relationships, and compliance with policies and laws.
• Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities to strengthen performance.

We're looking for aProperty Manager who leads with ownership, not just oversight. You'll be the visible leader of your community — developing your team, creating an exceptional resident experience, protecting the asset, and driving strong operational and financial performance.

What You'll Do

Lead, coach, and develop the on-site administrative, leasing, and maintenance teams.

Create a strong resident experience that supports satisfaction, retention, and the reputation of the community.

Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and ensure the community consistently meets AJD standards.

Manage property financial performance, including budgets, expenses, revenue, and P&L results.

Monitor leasing activity, occupancy, resident retention, and other key performance indicators.

Ensure accurate and timely operational and financial reporting.

Manage risk, compliance, vendor relationships, and adherence to company policies and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

Partner with senior leadership and other AJD teams to identify opportunities to strengthen property performance.

What You Bring

5+ years of progressive property management experience, including at least 2 years leading a team.

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or relevant professional designation preferred.

Strong understanding of the resident rental lifecycle, property operations, customer service, and financial management.

Demonstrated ability to coach employees, address performance issues, and build accountable teams.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management technology preferred.

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Ability to maintain an active, visible presence throughout the property.
