Property Management Accounting Clerk - Accounting Department

Join us as a Property Management Accounting Clerk at Berman.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our property management team. In this on-site role, you will handle general accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial properties, working closely with property managers, tenants, and vendors to ensure financial accuracy, timely reporting, and compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities
  1. Data Entry: Record financial transactions, invoices, receipts, and payments using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Excel).
  2. Accounts Payable: Process vendor bills, prepare payments, and match purchase orders with invoices.
  3. Accounts Receivable: Generate/send invoices, record payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.
  4. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile company records with bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
  5. Record-Keeping: Maintain organized financial records for audits and reviews.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • At least two years of commercial property management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 15 pounds.
